I'm interested in engineering Streptomyces bacteria to maximise the production of natural compounds. My research specifically focuses on Mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs), which are natural substances that function as UV filters.
I hold a Master's degree in Cosmetic Sciences from Liverpool John Moores University. After my studies, I authored a book chapter focusing on formulation strategies for enhancing Sun Protection Factor (SPF). I was co-supervised by Croda company.
Beyond my research work, I run a YouTube channel called Sopiday. Through this platform, I interview PhD researchers about their projects and students about their academic experiences, while also sharing vlogs about academic life.
